Help Your Children Live Up to Their Full Potential Essay Example

Help Your Children Live Up to Their Full Potential Essay Example Help Your Children Live Up to Their Full Potential Essay Help Your Children Live Up to Their Full Potential Essay Several ways parents can help their children live up to their potential. One of the most important and effective relationships children have in their lives is with their parents. Parental involvement is essential to the early educational development of children. Creating effective learning habits will shape the childs attitude for many years to come. Despite some parents and families desire to provide the best for their children, some are unaware of how to become actively involved. Without consistency at home, children are not given the motivation needed to do well in school. Nevertheless there are several ways that parents can help their children live up to their full potential. The first way a parent can help their child succeed is through encouragement and positive reinforcement. Many children that have trouble succeeding in school just need a little encouragement and someone to believe in them. A good example of this would be, whenever a child says, â€Å"I cant do it. Re-assure them that they can do anything that they put their minds to. Doing this changes the child’s process of approaching the problem. Therefore, I cant do it, turns into, I can do anything. Positive re-enforcement lets the child know that if my parents believe that I can succeed than I must be doing something correctly. The next step in helping your child live up to their full potential is to create a routine and follow a strategic educational plan. Parents must take an active position in their child’s educational process. For instance, if your child is supposed begi ns there homework as soon as they return home from school, do not deviate from this routine. Routines provide children with a sense of responsibility, which makes the child accountable for his or her learning experience. Next parents should develop a system with set goals and expectations, so that the child can feels as if they are working towards something important. When a goal is met, it should be acknowledge and rewarded. In addition to providing encouragement, structure, and setting goal parents need to guide their children in the right direction. Children should constantly be reminded about the importance of a good education. Inform your child that having good grades through school lead to attending the best collages, and attending the best college leads to having a better job and making more money. Children need to understand that learning is a process that over time can be mastered. In conclusion, parents need to comprehend that every child has different learning capabilities. Children absorb information differently, some more quickly than others. Parents should be patient and unwavering when it comes to their child’s education. By implementing the steps discussed in this essay parents will be able prepare their children with the tools necessary to reach their full potential.

W1D 590 "Creating Innovation" Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

W1D 590 "Creating Innovation" - Essay Example Empowerment is a motivating factor in the work environment, and it involves having more freedom in making choices and in actions (Deb, 2006). Under the leadership of Steve Jobs, associates were empowered, there was a delegation of authority and responsibility, and employees had freedom. Apple hired employees who shared its values and with a passion for their work. There was also extensive training for skill building and to embed the teamwork mentality. Apple knew the secret to success, that of empowering and developing its employees and giving them the freedom to be creative (Phillips & Gully, 2013). In turn, they created innovative products that beat the competition. The competition may copy the products in order to reach the success of Apple in which case it may be a futile task because what they must emulate is in relation to human capital. Competitors need to hire the right human capital and invest in it in the form of training as well as empower it in order to achieve success. Many benefits accrue from empowering the employees such as job satisfaction, motivation, being customer oriented and leadership skills development (Durai & Pravin, 2010). The more reason the competition should adapt empowering their employees for enhanced

Literature review for my which is in ( analysis and valuation of three companies in petrochemical industry) - Dissertation Example The hazardous materials transportation act and the pollution prevention act are significant among these. According to the first act, the Department of Transportation gets the authority to control the transportation of such materials including the petrochemicals. Furthermore, the USA government has become increasingly active and concerned about the safety and environmental areas for this petrochemical transportation. Adding to it, the state governments are also taking interests in the issues affecting the petrochemical industry such as the specific charges and taxes, reduction of toxic use and hazardous waste as well as state right-to-know statutes (U.S Department of Commerce, 1994, p.11-5). Economic Factors The recent recession has emerged as devastating for the leading economies across the globe including USA. The rise in the oil has also contributed to the rise of the Petrochemical product prices. As a consequence, the petrochemical organisations have been experiencing low producti on and profitability margins (Ismaiyatim, 2010). Furthermore, with the rise in the price of the petrochemical products, the demand for the same has experienced a decline leading to further shrinkage of the profit margins. Social Factors With the enhancement in the life styles of the habitants in USA, the usage of the automobiles has also been increased leading to the increase in the demand side. Technological Factors With the technological advancements, there have been changes in the mining of the petrochemical products. So, all these technological developments have been influential to decide on the mining and refining of the petrochemical products. Environmental Factors Environment is a significant influential factor to control the petrochemical industry. Federal government has come up with an act, The Pollution Prevention Act, to control the adverse effect of the petrochemical organisations. This act is a policy to eliminate or reduce the waste generation at a source, if that is f easible at that time. It directs its government to commence an appropriate program to collect the information, transfer the technology well as offering financial assistance to the states to execute this policy. In this way the federal government motivates the states to promote the waste reduction techniques at the source. Furthermore, even the state governments have become increasingly active to address the environmental and safety issues related to the petrochemical industry. European Petrochemical Industry European Petrochemical industry is one of the leading petrochemical sectors across the globe. A number of oil companies in there has dealt into the processing of raw materials using own oil refineries into some fundamental petrochemical products and even to the downstream products. The petrochemical industry in Europe is experiencing forward integration in this industry. A number of oil companies carry out petrochemical activities in several locations in Europe. Among the signif icant petrochemical companies, companies like DOW, ICI, DSM and BASF in Western Europe deal with the ethylene production in Europe. â€Å"After a series of reorganisations in the 1980s and 1990s, the changes in the European chemical industry have indeed continued: DSM’s petrochemical operations were acquired by Sabic†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (Camp, 2005, p.15). A PESTLE analysis has been carried out to understand different factors

Ethics and Morality Essay Example for Free

Ethics and Morality Essay Man is a mixture of paradoxes and since his birth always finds himself tangled in the dense thrushes of social and cultural issues. Hamlet by William Shakespear is a best example to deliver us the true intricate nature of a person, how he finds himself in a dilemma, of what is morally right for him and what is morally wrong. An incredible question is raised in front of him, To Be or not to be? As Socrates said, moral philosophy deals with no small matter, but how we ought to live. ( Rachels, 2007) It is quite true, moral philosophy is nothing but how we take issues in our life into consideration. The issue of Abortion is a very complex issue, as anti abortionists and pro abortionists are adamant to follow their own extreme assumption. On the one hand, anti –abortionists says that the loss of one’s life is the very big loss, making a person rob of whole of his life’s activities. Therefore, to kill some one is immoral, on the other hand abortion is justified it protects women from unwanted pregnancy, abortion protects her chastity in case of pregnancy occurring due to rape and any other health hazard which might be dangerous for women and child in case of pregnancy. In case of the danger to the human lives, Can humans react aggressively back in self -defense? There are three aspects to it, firstly if the action is taken place in defense in case of threatened aggression, then the action is preemptive attack and unjustified or if action for defense is used after the attack, it is called as retaliation and this is also unjustified. The importance of imminence rule in self-defense is that, one can resort to defense action only against the attack which is imminent or which is just going to take place. The reason behind this rule is that the action for defense should take place when aggression is nor too late neither too early. But for a battered women killing her abuser on self-defense, even if there is no imminent threat, is considered as justified because the battered woman, may find danger to her life by her husband who though is sleeping at that time may cause her harm when he woke up. This danger by the sleeping husband is though not imminent but she might find herself in a situation that retaliate in return became a most necessary vocation. When women comes to known that there is no hope left to stop the violence, then by the nature women became passive and as a result their capability to identify the alternative sources are disappeared and they can turned their aggressiveness at abusers. ThisBattered Womans Syndrome has allowed the women a self- independent and therefore a most reasonable person who in time of the need can use her force in self defense. Death penalty is a most serious punishment, and amidst lot of controversies surrounding the death penalty, whether the death penalty is justifiable or not? Mill in his most famous speech of 1868, strongly advocated in favor of death penalty. Mill says that actually death penalty is much less cruel than any other form of punishments. He argues that death penalty is only conferred on the very heinous crimes like that of murder and is a least cruel method of inflicting punishment as far as the seriousness of the crime is concerned. If we go by the version that we are following a very horror form of punishement and may adopt some lenient form of punishment then it will no doubt gives the appearance of very less severity and less efficacious but in realty it would be the more cruel form of punishment. Further he said that the nature of punishments in case of pecuniary or not corporal depending on their duration seems to be more severe than actual is but death penalty though appears to be so severe but it is not so. Therefore punishment like death sentence is no doubt a very strict but in realty there are not so in realty. But Kant declares, â€Å"That the legal punishment must always been in response to guilt. † According to Kant, nobody should be punished only because of the utilitarian causes. He further says, â€Å"Judicial punishment can never be used merely as a means to promote some other good for the criminal himself or civil society, but instead it must in all cases be imposed on him only on the ground that he has committed a crime; for a human being can never be manipulated merely as a means to the purposes of someone else. He must first of all be found to be deserving of punishment before any consideration is given of the utility of this punishment for himself or his fellow citizens. † Kant also says that retribution is not only a most important condition for punishment but also most sufficient†. Retribution can also be said as natural justification, which means man thinks that it is very natural and bad person ought to be punished and a good person should be rewarded. There are two aspects to this theory, Desert Principle means people who do wrong to some one else ought to suffer. In real sense the meaning of Kant is not totally clear. But the idea that is generates stives to speak and is says even though a person who is guilty of murder and for the sake of humanity should be treated with a certain amount of dignity, and the punishments which ignores the humanity of the criminals are outside domain of morality. We can say that we cannot prove that they are not justice, and unadulterated revenge. And according to Kant on retribution with revenge, he says there is always heart in the body The instinct for revenge is a natural one; so is the instinct to take things we want that dont belong to us, as anyone who has spent time around young children will testify. But in real sense the morality wants us human beings to move away from our mere instincts. , this would make it it hard to be a virtuous person. And in the sphere of punishment, morality requires that we respect the humanity but in many cases we can also go against the will of criminals.

Computer Systems :: essays research papers

Computer Systems Push a single button and you are connected to the world. It has revolutionized our economy, culture, and lifestyle. It connects you to the world through the internet, where you can check e-mail or read the news. It also allows you to process and store important data and information. When you think of computers you think of a variety of things, such as games, the internet, and e-mail. The computer in our generation serves as a tool to educate and entertain. The technology for computers is growing rapidly, as many companies compete to advance hardware and software. Over the past years, the battle has been between Apple (Macs) and IBM (PCs). While both Macs and PCs make their product to suit the needs of the consumer, they are built differently. Therefore, Apples and PCs have two different strategies when it comes to selling a product. I think the biggest differences are shown in three main categories: design/style, software/performance, and reliability/cost. Apple is known best for their innovative and stylish designs. When you compare Macs and PCs side by side, you can easily distinguish which is which. First, Apple computers are becoming more compact in size. Their new system designs include the display (monitor) integrated with the rest of the computer. The Apple’s iMac is a good example of how compact their systems are becoming. The PC on the other hand, is laid out in separate components such as the display and speakers that you plug into the desktop. Second, Apple computers have a more contemporary look. This has proven to be a great marketing and selling strategy. This new distinctive look makes the computer more appealing to the customer. Macs came out with a variety of translucent colors such as green, blue, and orange. New Apple products are coming out with very clean-looking all white models. PCs, on the other hand, are usually sold in grey or black colors, depending upon the company you buy from. I think Apple intended to make their design more like an appliance, rather than a computer, which looks user friendly and consumer appealing. Third, Apple’s design makes it easy to set up, meaning that you don’t need to connect many cords to operate the system. Easy Set up is a big plus when it comes to buying a computer. And last of all, instead of looking like a box with slots, Apple has designed computers using more shape.

The Importance of Crime Scene Investigation

Crime scene investigation is often a challenging and difficult line of work for even the most experienced law enforcement agent. There are some crimes that are more difficult to handle spiritually and emotionally than others. Crimes against children and the elderly are often most difficult to excuse and most difficult for crime scene investigators to process psychologically (Swanson, Chamelin & Territo, 1999: 313). Such investigations often result in tremendous psychological burden with time (O'Hara, 2003: 178). Homicide in generally is often difficult to recover from emotionally, and often requires the investigator become deeply involved in the forensics model or inner workings of the mind of the criminal to help solve a case (O'Hara, 2003). This can result in increasing psychological stress with time. This paper will review a recent criminal investigation of homicide to two young children and the psychological and emotional effects the crime had on the family of the victims and the criminal investigator. In this case the researcher probes into how a crime scene investigation can result in significant emotional, spiritual and in some cases physical trauma to both the victims family and the crime scene investigator. Here the crime scene demonstrates how emotionally vulnerable crime scene investigators are, much like crime victims in many circumstances. In this particular case two children were murdered by their mother who suffered from severe PPD or post partum depression. The event occurred in the middle of the night and was not revealed until 24 hours later when the father returned from a late night work shift and morning binge. The crime was reported to authorities immediately upon discovery. In this case the two boys, twins, appeared to be suffocated by the mother while sleeping one night. The crime scene was not overly violent. The victims home appeared unkempt however, with trash piling up in the kitchen and littering other rooms of the house. The children were dressed in unclean clothing and the house looked as though it had not been cleaned or attended to in several months. Walking into the family area there was a noticeable lack of children's toys. There were multiple bottles of alcoholic substances and other paraphernalia suggesting one or both of the parents suffered from substance abuse problems. This crime had a particularly devastating effect on me, as I could imagine what it would be like if my family had suffered a similar crime, if my brothers or sisters had been murdered by a family member. Homicide is never an easy crime to cope with. In this case multiple law enforcement agents that were also present at the crime scene had a difficult time coping with the tragic loss of two unique and innocent lives. Not helping the fact were family members that were present wailing and crying out regarding the injustices of the world. Each of the family members present was blaming him or herself for the crime, having recognized the potential for disaster early on but taking no action to prevent it. The father in this case once located and grandparents appeared noticeably distraught. The grandparents were particularly upset, blaming themselves for the incident. The father seemed to waffle between disbelief, shock and terror. The father clearly suffered some sort of substance abuse problem and reportedly was at work when the murders occurred (he works a night shift). Spiritually I found myself questioning how this could happen to two innocent children. The children were not more than a year old. Both were tiny and innocent victims and for moments I considered these parents unworthy of such blessings. Emotionally I wondered what such a tragedy might do to my own family, possibly destroying my motivation for living. There is some indication that the father in this case might be placed on suicide watch, suffering psychologically from these deaths and the death of his wife (who it seems from the investigation took a lethal dose of prescription pills after suffocating the children). The individual lost his life partner but also his children. This crime is in no way justifiable and reveals just how cruel the world can sometimes be to even the most innocent of victims. Even in cases where evidence exists that the perpetrator of a crime was not of sound mind or spirit, there is little justification in cases of homicide. There are in many cases explanations for individual's behavior, as may be the case in this particular instance. The crime scene investigation here suggests that there is evidence to support the idea that the mother in this case was not psychologically fit for parenting at the time in question. There is also evidence to suggest she lacked the support necessary to cope with a difficult situation. That does not excuse her actions nor her substance abuse behavior, but does help explain how a crime like this could have happened. If I were in this particular case I would have ensured early medical intervention and increased familial support to prevent the severe depression that ensued and forced the mother to kill herself and her children. Clearly she was also suffering emotionally and physically, and did not feel she had the resources or support necessary to seek help and solve her problem without resorting to drastic measures. It is possible she suffered from some sort of psychosis. In this case other family members should have stepped in to facilitate earlier intervention and prevent this horrendous crime from occurring. Crime scene investigations are often difficult for crime scene investigators to handle emotionally and psychologically. While the job seems straightforward at first, with time crime scene investigators come to realize how difficult managing the psychological, spiritual and emotional aspects of the job are. Of particular challenge are homicide investigations. It is vital when handling such cases that the investigator separate himself from the investigation so he or she does not associate what is going on in the investigation with any personal situations or circumstances. This can exacerbate the stress experienced by a crime scene investigator. Fortunately there are a number of support mechanism in place that can help crime scene investigators cope with the devastating and trying scenes they encounter from day to day. It is important that these resources be made readily available in the cases where crime scene investigations involve violent criminal activity. While familial support is encouraging and helpful, support among peers and even counselors may be warranted to help crime scene investigators deal with the day to day. Stress management and other relaxation inducing techniques also may help alleviate some of the burden crime scene investigators face when handling difficult or violent cases.

Hernan Cortes Hero or Villain

The Sun Cannot be covered by a Finger Hearing of the word hero brings to my mind a good looking man with some qualities of fair, equal, courage, brave, honest and a positive leader. This makes the opposite a villain a person who wishes wrong for someone or a person who creates evil. The event changes dramatically, a hero of the past may not be considered a hero in the present and versa. Hernando Cortes a hero for joining two worlds and conquering the most powerful civilization of America or Hernando Cortes a villain for making the Aztec Empire disappear.Hernando Cortez was an important symbol for the explorations, but killing people, ending the most powerful civilization in America and spreading diseases does not makes him a hero. With good strategy and few men Cortes defeated the Aztec Empire, first Montezuma II and then Cuauhtemoc. (5) Spreading disease â€Å"smallpox† to the Aztecs that then will spread the disease all over Mexico and making many people die. (2) Taking over a civilization that had his culture, language, religion and after doing all this finished with the entire Aztec Empire. (1) If you argue these reasons you get the results of a villain or in this case the result of Cortes. â€Å"For the people of Mexico, Cuauhtemoc is a hero as the Spanish are inhuman exploiters in their treatment of the indigenous population. † (3) Not only Mexicans believe that poor and cruel treatment for human beans is a crime. This is something that we were born and we immediately knew. Treating humans as slaves is shameful and this is exactly what Cortes did.Coming to a place that is not yours and saying that now is you place is one thing, but treating them bad so they would do what he order and killing them if they decided to oppose is another high level of evilness. (4) Cortes was ultimately responsible for the abuses suffered by indigenous and this contributes immensely to the â€Å"black legend† of conquest. (9) The black legend of the conque st was the abuse of the Spanish toward the Indigenous. Spanish began to take women and children for the Indians to serve and to use evil from them; they ate their meals that the Indians got from hard effort and work of everyday from them. 9) All of this where bad treatment towards the Aztecs that before the Spanish got to America was a civilization that was not bad treated by anyone. (6) This was the form they treated the Aztecs that would later lead to the evaporation of the Aztec Empire. The Spanish were starting to settle as well as the diseases. In 100 years 90 percent of the Indians population died and this was a problem that Cortes carried since his arrival. (11) Smallpox was undoubtedly the main villain, though not only, as the Spanish also introduced the mumps and measles, both responsible for many deaths. 17) There is no evidence that these infections exist in America before the arrival of the conquistadores. The disease was certainly bloodiest than the smallpox in sixteenth century in Europe. (11) It can be considerate that this disease was passed in the first try of Cortes trying to conquer the Aztecs in 1521. This being a fast disease that passed from person to person. (16) When Cortes entered the city in August, found that nearly half the population had died. In the course of six months there was hardly a single town without being infected. 11) It has been estimated that nearly half of the Aztec people died in the first epidemic. While Cortes was preparing more men and building ships for attacking the city, the Aztecs were dying by the disease that his men left the first time they enter the city. (8) This was a big extra help to make things much easier so Cortes could conquer the Aztec Empire. (11) Without really looking for extra help, help was falling from the sky towards Cortes; in this case he found out that he had killed a lot of men with one of his disease. In addition, can someone by considered a hero for something that he really did not plan ? After one eventually comes the other. Cortes did not only focus on killing the Aztecs he is still remembered for the battles of â€Å"La matanza de Cholula† and â€Å"La matanza del templo mayor†. Cortes needed men to help him finish the Aztec empire. â€Å"La matanza de Cholula† was an attack by military forces of the Spanish conqueror Hernando Cortes in his path to the city of Mexico-Tenochtitlan in the year 1519. (12) According to writings of Cortes it was a preventing action because there was a rumor that there was going to be a possible ambush inside the city of Cholula. The result was the death of 5 000 or 6 000 Cholula, mostly unarmed civilians in a period not exceeding six hours. (12) The other battle â€Å"La matanza del templo mayor† also known as the night of tears was the night that Cortes lost half of his men trying to escape from the city of Tenochtitlan were also many Aztecs died; this was the 20 of May 1520. 13) The 27 of June 3 days bef ore the night of tears happened Montezuma was killed by his own people, this will lead to the first confusion; days later Cuauhtemoc will be the next leader of the Aztecs being recognized for a more aggressive leader. (14) Cuauhtemoc knowing that Cortes was trying to empower Tenochtitlan, he organized the army and people to defend the city, offered to remove the tributes to his vassals, fortified the plaza and destroyed the bridges. The Aztecs defended their positions for 75 days, until August 13, 1521. After the 75 days the city was impossible the leader tried to escape but they were capture by Spanish people. (14) Cuauhtemoc was then captured and was threatened to death if he did not said were the gold was. Cuauhtemoc remained imprisoned for 4 years. He was killed by the conquerors during the expedition of Cortes to Central America in 1525 and this was the end of a civilization that suffer since the arrival of the Spanish. 14) Getting to a conclusion, we analyze how Cortes treated, killed, fight. Cortes a villain for making bloody battle fields where he stepped. Clearly here is the definition of a villain. Spreading diseases, making people suffer, finishing the civilization only for the purpose of gold and his own benefits. A hero thinks of everyone not just on himself. Once again with good strategy and few men Cortes defeated the Aztec Empire, first Montezuma II and then Cuauhtemoc making this suffer much more. However spreading disease â€Å"smallpox† to the Aztecs that then will spread the disease all over Mexico and making many people die. This disease killed 90% of the Natives in 100 years. Taking over a civilization that had his culture, language, religion and after doing all this finished with the entire Aztec Empire. No one can be considered a hero by doing these evil things. Cortes proof to be a villain in almost every act, sometimes is not enough to be a brave men and courageous. You need to use this qualities for good not for bad treatment.

Campbell Soup Co. Essays - Management, American Brands, Free Essays

Campbell Soup Co. Essays - Management, American Brands, Free Essays Campbell Soup Co. 1. Company Overview Founded in 1869, Campbell Soup Company is one of the leaders in manufacturing from frozen dinners to retail garden centers. However Soup has been its core business. Some major brands of Campbell Soup Co. include Flagship red-and-white canned soup, Prego Spaghetti sauces, Godiva Chocolates, Pepperidge Farm baked goods, V8, etc. In addition, since 1980, Campbell Soup Co. has undergone three different strategies under thee different CEOs who brought their own agenda in order to build value for the company and its shareholders. For example, under Gordon McGoverns leadership (1980-1989), Campbells strategic focus was on developing and introducing new products and expansion of the business portfolio through acquisitions. Under David Johnson (1990 1997), The companies focus shifted to increasing sales growth, increase market share present), Campbells strategy focus continued to increase sales growth, increase market share & share holder value, but focus was shifted more towards profitable b usinesses with the highest growth potential and divestations of non strategic businesses 2. Problems / Strategic Issues Since 1980, Campbells corporate strategy and the companys business structure have undergone three significant changes. Each strategy was implemented under the leadership of three different CEOs: 1. 1980 1989, Gordon Morrison: o Expansion through acquisitions and development of new products. 2. 1990 1997, David Johnson: o Increase sales growth, increase market share & share holder value. 3. 1997 Present, Dale Morison: o Continue to increase sales growth, market share & share holder value. Campbells corporate strategy, under Gordon McGovern was expansion & development of new products to capitalize on consumer trends & improve operating efficiency. But this strategy turned out to be inefficient, as Campbells managers got too deeply involved in new-product development and neglected the performance of their existing products. In addition the expansion strategy led to unsuccessful diversification of Campbells business into industries that they had no expertise or competitive advantage. As a result, the companys cost of production went up and profit was reduced. Under David Johnson, the company restructured the business line and implemented a new corporate strategy. The new strategy was to eliminate unprofitable products and business units, improve communication and technology sharing between business units, and focus more on global marketing in order to increase sales growth, market share and shareholder value. This new strategy helped to increase operating margin and profits for the company. Some businesses were also able to improve their performances under Davids strategy. However, the company encountered some setbacks with its global marketing strategy. For example, the European market was harder than expected to penetrate for such products as Campbells soups. The company failed to detect that aggressive advertisement was needed to introduce The Soup products in Europe that caused sales to drop in those markets. When Dale Morison took over Campbell Soup as CEO, His goal was to enhance David Johnsons plan. He also restructured the companys business line structure further more and planned to Continue to increase sales growth, increase market share

First by gathering information about the area on the Internet, and then by personally visiting the area, marketing personnel will be able to view local businesses and target areas to market and sell company products. Another area that will require improvement is the company’s logistics department. Just as the marketing department conducted their research on businesses in the region, the logistics department will also need to research the region to determine what improvements are required to be able to provide product throughout the region. The finance department is responsible for ensuring that the company has sufficient financing to achieve its goals, such as conducting the initial research, making necessary internal improvement, and managing future operating and material costs. These are just a few examples of what it will take for the company to achieve its goal of becoming a premier wholesale nursery in the region. GOAL: Operational Plan One of the company’s goals is to accomplish the operational plan to acquire a larger client base. A strategy to obtain this goal is to provide incentives to our sales associates by having work on a commission basis. This will bring more clients to our business by giving employees an incentive to go out and get more clients. Our goal is to introduce the company to numerous potential clients and promotes newer products by advertising or marketing. The plan of having three sales associates and give them assigned part of town to sell will cover more areas and generate more sales. These sales associates will be trained by the owner and will report directly to them. Once the sales associate has an established customer in the area it is stored in the client database. The database will

How can we conserve biodiversity on a global scale using evidence from Essay

How can we conserve biodiversity on a global scale using evidence from evolution in deep time - Essay Example Because of the changes in the plate tectonics combined with the fossil remains of the ancient reefs which was formed approximately between 360 to 440 million years ago (Veron, 2004), rock formation that we have today is formed. Aside from the changes in the Earth’s surface, the extinction of each species may also contribute to the formation of a new species. In line with this matter, Fredrickson and Onstott (1996) discussed the possibility that the subterranean bacteria could have been responsible not only in the erosion process of rocks but also in terms of converting the minerals from one form to another. Millions of years ago, the atmosphere was composed of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, methane, sulphur, and nitrogen gases (Brasier et al., 2002; Haynes, 2002). Biologists suspected that the presence of photosynthetic bacteria around two to three million years ago has changed the atmospheric condition we have today by releasing some oxygen into the atmosphere. (Haynes, 2002) The living fossils managed to survived hundreds of million years ago. However, 99.9% of all the species are now extinct (Raup, 1991, pp. 3 – 6). For this study, the past human and environmental factors that can significantly affect the extinction of some of plants, animals, micro-organisms, and the ecosystem among others will be thoroughly discussed followed by reflecting on how we can effectively conserve biodiversity on a global scale based on the identified major causes of extinction. As part of the conclusion, recommended ways on how we can prevent the mass destruction of biodiversity will be provided in details. Human actions can result to a significant change within the environmental. Because of heavy industrialization, the loss of habitat due to heavy pollution or the extinction of trees in the forests are among the common factors that could endanger the plant and animal

The British involvement in the trade of slaves Essay

The British involvement in the trade of slaves - Essay Example The British involvement in the trade of slaves Various British colonies include the thirteen states of the United States of America that were mainly on the eastern side, Canada, India, Eastern Africa, South Africa, and Australia. All this different colonies had a contribution to make in the development of slavery. Some colonies were the source of the slaves, while others especially in the areas that had major industrial revolution were the destinations of the slaves. An analysis of the participation of different British colonies reveals how they participated in the development of slavery and how they affected its development. Britain had thirteen colonies in the North America regions that contributed a lot to the development of slavery. This States included Virginia, Massachusetts, Carolinas, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, to mention but a few. This is because the economies of these states were majorly dependent on slavery as a way to get cheap labor to work in the vast plantations of tobacco and cotton. The growth of tobacco had become family based, making the demand of slaves to increase since each homestead that planted tobacco required slaves. Industrialization was also expanding in the thirteen British colonies in the Northern side of America. This influenced the need of more slaves for the purpose of performing the hard labor of constructing the factories and working in the harsh conditions of the factories. One thing that was true about slavery in the British colonies within America is that it had a racial trait attached to it.
